Asian Markets

US market

U.S. markets ended lower on October 7. The broad market index dropped 0.38% to 6,714.59, ending a seven-day winning streak. The Nasdaq Composite declined 0.67% to 22,788.36, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 91.99 points, or 0.2%, closing at 46,602.98.

US dollar

The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, was trading 0.16% up at 98.75 on Wednesday morning. The index evaluates the strength or weakness of the US dollar in comparison to major currencies. The basket contains currencies such as the British Pound, Euro, Swedish Krona, Japanese Yen, Swiss Franc, etc. The rupee depreciated 0.012% to close at 88.77 to the dollar on October 7.

Crude Oil

Crude oil prices inched higher on Wednesday, with WTI crude rising 0.77% to $62.20 per barrel and Brent crude up 0.68% at $65.89 per barrel in early trade.

FII, DII data

FIIs turned net buyers of Indian equities on October 7, buying Rs 1,441 crore, while DIIs recorded their lowest inflow since August 22 at Rs 452 crore.

Gold rate today

In the latest gold rate in Dubai, 24-carat gold was priced at AED 479.50 per gram, while 22-carat traded at AED 444 per gram and 18-carat at AED 364.75 per gram.
