A 1-mark MCQ will have a ⅓ mark deduction for a wrong response, while a 2-mark MCQ will result in a ⅔ mark deduction. However, Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions will not have negative marking for incorrect responses. Additionally, partial marking is not applicable to any question.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Roorkee) will announce the GATE 2025 results on March 19. Candidates can download their GATE 2025 scorecards starting March 28 from the official websites gate2025.iitr.ac.in and goaps.iitr.ac.in. To access the result, candidates must log in to the portal.
GATE 2025 took place on February 1, 2, 15, and 16 in a computer-based test (CBT) format. The exam was conducted in two sessions: the forenoon session from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and the afternoon session from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The test included three types of questions: Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple-Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
Each GATE test paper comprised 65 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. Among these, 10 questions worth 15 marks were dedicated to General Aptitude (GA). For AE, AG, BM, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, ES, GE, IN, ME, MN, MT, NM, PE, PI, and TF papers, the GA section accounted for 15 marks, while the remaining 85 marks were allocated to the subject component, including 13 marks for Engineering Mathematics.
