The daily essentials and food items are set to become cheaper starting today as FMCG companies slash prices, passing on the benefits of GST 2.0 to consumers. The move comes on the first day of Navratri and just ahead of Diwali and is expected to boost demand and sales.

Here’s a look at which FMCG companies have announced the biggest price cuts.

1. ITC: Ghee sees one of the steepest reductions

ITC has lowered prices across packaged foods and personal care products. The price of Savlon (100 ml) decreased to Rs 374 from Rs 400, Sunfeast Marie Light biscuits (956 gm) to Rs 150 from Rs 170, and ghee (1 litre) to Rs 1,010 from Rs 1,080.

The Rs 70 reduction in ITC’s ghee is one of the largest single-item cuts in FMCG.

2. Amul products get cheaper, from butter to ice-cream

Dairy brand Amul has slashed prices across ghee, butter, paneer, and ice-creams. It has reduced the price of butter (100 gm) to Rs 58 from Rs 62, paneer (200 gm) to Rs 95 from Rs 99, and ghee (1 litre) to Rs 610 from Rs 650. Its ice creams will also be cheaper, with prices now starting from Rs 9.

Amul’s ghee reduction of Rs 40 per litre is among the highest in the dairy space.

3. Nestlé India trims prices across Maggi and coffee range

Nestlé has cut prices across its popular Maggi and coffee ranges under GST 2.0. The company reduced the price of Maggi noodles (600 gm pack) by Rs 4 to Rs 116, while Nescafé Classic (45 gm) was lowered by Rs 30 to Rs 235. Nescafé Gold saw the biggest cut, dropping by Rs 95 to Rs 755, making it one of the steepest reductions in the beverages category.

4. Dabur: Toothpaste packs see Rs 18 cut

Dabur has rolled out price cuts across its juices, health supplements, and oral care portfolio. Real Juice (1 litre) has been reduced by Rs 8 to Rs 122, while Chyawanprash (900 gm) now costs Rs 440 after a Rs 35 cut.

price of its Red and Meswak toothpaste (200 gm) by Rs 18 to Rs 135. Hajmola (120 tabs) has also been made cheaper by Rs 5, bringing the price down to Rs 65. The Rs 18 reduction in toothpaste packs is among the most consumer-friendly moves in the oral care segment.

5. PepsiCo (Varun Beverages): Tropicana apple juice now Rs 105 per litre

Varun Beverages, PepsiCo’s distributor has reduced prices across its juice and packaged water portfolio. Tropicana apple juice (1 litre) has been cut by Rs 10 to Rs 105, while Slice mango juice (1.2 litre) is now priced at Rs 65 after a Rs 5 reduction. Aquafina water (1 litre) has also become cheaper, with the price down by Rs 2 to Rs 18.

6. Ferrero: Steepest cut in chocolate segment

Confectionery major Ferrero has announced festive-season price cuts across its portfolio. Nutella prices (350 gm) have been reduced by Rs 50 to Rs 399, while Ferrero Rocher (300 gm) prices have been slashed by Rs 100 to Rs 879. 7. Procter & Gamble (P&G): Vicks Action 500 Advance gets Rs 5 cheaper

Procter & Gamble (P&G) has reduced MRPs across several of its popular brands, including Vicks, Pampers, Head & Shoulders, Pantene, Gillette, and Oral-B. Vicks Action 500 Advance has been lowered by Rs 5 to Rs 64, while prices of diapers, shampoos, and razors have also been revised downwards.

8. Emami and HUL roll out price cuts across personal care and food products

Emami has announced price reductions across its personal care portfolio, making products such as Boroplus Antiseptic Cream, Navratna Oil, Zandu Balm, and talcum powders more affordable under GST 2.0.

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has also cut prices across soaps, shampoos, health drinks, and spreads. Products including Dove shampoo, Lux and Lifebuoy soaps, Horlicks, Bru coffee, and Kissan Jam will all be available at lower prices starting today, September 22.

9. Patanjali foods rolls out steep GST 2.0 reductions, ghee sees Rs 48 cut

Patanjali has rolled out steep cuts across its Nutrela, personal care, and health products. The company has reduced prices of Nutrela soya chunks (1 kg) to Rs 190 from Rs 210, Dant Kanti toothpaste (200 gm) to Rs 106 from Rs 120, and ghee (900 ml) to Rs 732 from Rs 780. Its biscuits, noodles, hair oils and wellness products have also seen price cuts.
