October rolls into November, and carmakers have witnessed a sales increase owing to the festive season. Carmakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai, and Kia have been looking forward to this, while two-wheeler makers such as Hero MotoCorp, TVS, Bajaj, and Honda have also been counting on the festive season to see a boost in sales.

October 2024 Auto Sales Live: Kia delivers 28,545 units
According to Vahan portal, 28,545 units (excluding Telangana) of Kia vehicles were delivered to customers in October 2024, marking a 30% YoY growth compared to the 21,941 units delivered in October last year. Kia India 22,753 units were dispatched to the domestic market whereas 2,042 units were shipped to foreign markets.

Earlier in October this year, Kia launched two flagship products the new-gen Carnival Limousine and EV9. Kia claims to have delivered 55 units of the former in the first month.
October 2024 Auto Sales Live: Honda domestic car sales decline, exports grow
Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), registered total sales of 10,080 units in Oct’2024. Domestic sales of the company stood at 5,546 units and exports at 4,534 units in the month of October 2024. During the same month the previous fiscal, the Japanese carmaker sold 9,400 units in the domestic market and exported 3,683 units. This has resulted in a YoY decline of 41% in the domestic sales and a YoY growth of 23% in exports.

Hero also recorded a monthly volume of 8,750 units electric scooter sales under its Vida brand- the highest ever till date. Currently, Hero retails two Vida products: V1 Pro and V1 Plus, which are priced at Rs 1.30 lakh and Rs 1.03 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively.
At the same time, Hero MotoCorp expanded its premium dealership network to over 50 “Premia” outlets in as many cities, aiming to reach 100 such outlets by March. These Premia dealerships feature dedicated sections for Hero MotoCorp, VIDA, and Harley-Davidson products under one roof.
October 2024 Auto Sales Live: Hero MotoCorp registers 18% YoY growth
Hero MotoCorp sold 679,091 units of motorcycles and scooters in October 2024. This resulted in 18% YoY growth over the corresponding month of the previous fiscal when it sold 574,930 units in October 2023. Out of the total sales volume, 657,403 units were sold in domestic market whereas 21,688 units were shipped to foreign markets resulting in a YoY growth of 17.44% and 43% respectively.

So far, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Tata Motors, MG, Hyundai, Royal Enfield, and Toyota have reported their sales. Apart from Toyota, Mahindra, MG, and Royal Enfield, others have reported a decline in sales.
Tata Motors‘ CV sales witnessed a 1 percent YoY growth in October 2024, having sold 32,708 units. The company’s CV exports, however, saw a 15 percent decline, having registered sales of 1,551 units.
Tata Motors has seen a flat growth in October 2024, selling a total of 48,131 passenger vehicles in the domestic market, as compared to selling 48,337 units in October 2023. The company’s EV sales, which includes domestic and exports saw a 2 percent decline, having sold 5,355 units.
After witnessing a slump, MG India has recorded positive sales. The company has recorded sales of 7,045 units and registered a YoY growth of 31 percent. The festive season has helped the carmaker in terms of sales and on Dhanteras, the carmaker delivered over 100 EVs on the same day in Delhi.

Toyota continues to post strong growth month after month and in October 2024, the carmaker witnessed a 41 percent growth, having sold 30,845 units. In comparison, Toyota sold 21,879 units in October 2023.
Maruti Suzuki‘s commercial vehicle sales accounted for 3,539 units last month. Maruti Suzuki has the sole Super Carry in its range of CVs and compared to last October, sales was down 9 percent.
Mariti Suzuki has witnessed a 5 percent YoY sales decrease, having sold 159,591 units in the domestic market last month. In contrast, the carmaker sold 168,047 units in October 2023. Maruti Suzuki‘s UVs, which include the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, and XL6 witnessed growth.
So far, Mahindra and Royal Enfield have reported their sales and both companies have registered positive growth. Royal Enfield has surpassed the 1 lakh sales milestone in a month for the first time and Mahindra’s SUV sales, CV sales, and tractor sales have seen positive growth.
Royal Enfield is testing multiple motorcycles and the latest to break cover is the Interceptor Bear 650, which is based on the Interceptor. The Bear 650 sees various tweaks done to the Interceptor platform and the engine is the same, but makes more torque. The launch is expected on November 5 and this could help RE with sales.

Royal Enfield has surpassed the 1 lakh sales milestone for a month in October 2024. The Chennai-based motorcycle maker sold 1,10,574 units last month, registering 31 percent YoY growth. The bike maker’s exports registered sales of 8,688 units, witnessing a growth of 26 percent.
In October 2024, Mahindra saw a 10 percent increase in its CV sales, registering sales of 38,638 units. During the same period last year, Mahindra sold 35,117 units. For Mahindra, the LCV 2 T – 3.5 T segment saw the highest domestic growth, registering a 17 percent YoY growth.
Mahindra‘s been posting positive sales growth for the last few months and October is no different. The carmaker registered highest-ever domestic SUV sales of 54,504 units last month as compared to 43,708 units in October 2023. Mahindra saw a YoY growth of 25 percent.
Mahindra is the first to announce it’s numbers for its farm equipment division. Mahindra sold 64,326 tractors in October 2024 as compared to selling 49,336 units in October last year, registering a YoY growth of 30 percent. Mahindra’s tractor exports saw a flat growth.
