Kia Motors is a South Korea based automotive giant with its headquarters based in Seoul. The company made its India debut with the launch of its first product called the Seltos in August 2019. The Seltos that happens to be a midsize SUV is manufactured at the company's production facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. In the month of April 2017, Kia Motors signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh State Government. The MoU was signed to build a new manufacturing facility in the state. The said facility has a capital imvestment of USD 1.1 Billion and is expected to commence production sometime in the second half of 2019 with an approximate production capacity of around 3,00,000 units per year. Founded in 1944, Kia Motors is one of Korea's oldest automakers and the company has over 51,000 employees at present with an annual revenue of USD 47 billion. Kia Motors manufactures about 3 million vehicles per year and has 14 manufacturing & assembly facilities in a total of five countries. Coming back to India operations, other expected products by Kia Motors for India include the Carnival luxury MPV along with a mid size MPV and a small SUV.
