Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The benchmark equity indices closed in negative territory on April 12. The NSE Nifty 50 lost 234.40 points or 1.03% to close at 22,519.40, while the BSE Sensex pulled back 800 points or 1.08% to finish at 74,244.90. Nifty Bank dropped 422 points or 0.86% to close at 48,564.55.
Vodafone Idea is gearing up to introduce a Follow-on Public Offer (FPO) of equity shares valued at Rs 18,000 crore next week. As per the exchange filing, the FPO is slated to commence on April 18 and conclude on April 22. Additionally, the company disclosed that approval for anchor investor offers will be granted on April 16. The shares of Vodafone Idea dips over 2% to intra-day lows of Rs 12.60 on NSE

The NSE Nifty 50 opened 0.39% lower at 22,664.75, while the BSE Sensex opened 0.41% lower at 74,727.17.
Shares in the Asia-Pacific region are trading in mixed territory on Friday morning. The Asia Dow is trading up by 0.14%, where as the Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading in green, up by 0.43%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is ended lower by 0.26% and the benchmark Chinese index Shanghai Composite is ended up by 0.23%.
The NSE has added Balrampur Chini Mills, Exide Industries, Hindustan Copper, IDEA, India Cements, National Aluminium, Sail, and Zee Entertainment Enterprise in F&O on April 12, 2024.
According to provisional data available on the NSE, foreign institutional investors (FII) purchased shares worth a net Rs 2,778.2 crore, whereas domestic institutional investors (DII) acquired shares worth a net Rs 163.4 crore on April 10, 2024.
On Friday morning, WTI crude prices are down by 1.41% to $85, while Brent crude prices are trading at $90.15, representing a slight decrease of 0.08%.
The US Dollar Index (DXY), gauging the dollar’s strength against six major foreign currencies, edged up by 0.01% to reach 105.28 in trading.
Bloomberg reported that another inflation report exceeding estimates led to a decline in US stocks and bonds, as Wall Street traders anticipated the Federal Reserve’s reluctance to cut interest rates this year. The Nasdaq Composite rose by 141.23 points, or 0.87%, closing at 16,447.87. However, the S&P 500 fell by 14.02 points, or 0.27%, to 5,195.89, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended down by 442.50 points, or 1.14%, at 38,441.17.
