The Indian stock market ended Monday’s trading session in the red. The Sensex ended the session at 82,327.05, down 0.21%, while the Nifty 50 settled at 25,227.35, down 0.23%. The Nifty Bank closed lower at 56,625, up 0.03% by the end of the day.

Adani Ports, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, and Bajaj Finance were among the top gainers on the Sensex 30 in today’s session.

Tata Motors, Infosys drag markets lower

On the flip side, Tata Motors, Hindustan Unilever, Infosys, and Bharat Electronics were among the top laggards of the day.

Midday Movers

BLS International Services saw a steep fall, crashing to a 52-week low after the Ministry of External Affairs barred the company from bidding for new Indian Mission tenders for two years.

Meanwhile, Yes Bank extended its winning streak, rising nearly 10% over the last three sessions to touch a fresh 52-week high.

On the other hand, Reliance Power slipped over 5% in the intraday session after reports emerged over the weekend regarding the arrest and subsequent resignation of its Executive Director and CFO

Auto major Tata Motors also remained under pressure, falling nearly 7% over the last seven sessions. The decline comes as the company prepares to implement its long-planned demerger of passenger and commercial vehicle businesses. The record date for the demerger has been fixed for October 14.
