The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted continued active Monsoon conditions in Peninsular and adjoining central India for the next 4-5 days. Recent heavy rainfall across several states has led to widespread flooding and substantial damage to life and property. IMD also warned of isolated extremely heavy rainfall expected over specific regions: Konkan & Goa and Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra on 15th-16th July, Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka on 15th July, and Kerala & Mahe on 15th July.
