The Indian passenger vehicle market continued its fruitful period in November 2023 with a total 3,34,868 cars in the mass market segment sold across the country. This resulted in a 4% YoY growth, however, MoM sales declined by over 14%. Let us look at the top 5 best-selling car brands in the country for November 2023.

  1. Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki continued to reign in the Indian passenger vehicle market with over 40 percent market share. The carmaker sold 1,34,158 units of passenger cars in November this year which resulted in a 1.3% YoY growth and a 20% MoM decline. As usual, models like WagonR, Swift, and Dzire were some of the highest-selling models sold

During the same period last year, Maruti sold 1,32,395 cars whereas in October this year, the company registered sales of 1,68,047 units.

  1. Hyundai

Hyundai held onto the second position with 49,451 units dispatched to dealerships across the country in November. During the same month last year, the Korean automaker recorded a sales volume of 48,002 units. As a result , YoY growth stands at 3%. Creta and Venue were the only Hyundai models to record a monthly volume over 10,000 units last month while Exter registered 8,325 units.

Tata Motors came perilously close to Hyundai’s sales figures for November this year. The homegrown carmaker sold 46,070 units last month with stagnant sales compared to November last year. However, the carmaker witnessed a small MoM drop of 4.7% compared to October this year. Nexon and Punch continued to be best-selling models for Tata accumulating a volume of 14,916 and 14,383 units, respectively.

  1. Mahindra

Mahindra took the fourth spot with 39,981 units sold in November this year. The carmaker only retails utility vehicles now and registered a YoY growth of 32.2% and a MoM decline of 8.5%. Scorpio was the highest-selling model for the Chakan-based manufacturer with 12,185 units followed by the Bolero range 9,333 units.

Kia recorded a volume of 22,762 units in November this year. During the corresponding period last year, the Korean carmaker sold 24,025 units while in October 2023 this figure stood at 24,351 units. As a result, Kia registered a YoY decline of 5% and a MoM decline of 7%. Seltos was the brand’s highest-selling model with 11,684 units sold last month.
