Tata Motors has plenty of products lined up for launch this year. It started with the Punch EV last month which will be followed by the all-electric Harrier later this year. However, the biggest launch for the homegrown carmaker is undisputedly the Curvv. The coupe SUV was first unveiled in 2022 before making its first public appearance at the 2023 Auto Expo.

A prototype of the same was displayed at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. Now a test mule of the Curvv was has been spied testing on Indian roads. The test unit was completely undisguised and looked very close to the final production-spec model.

Tata Curvv spied testing: Design

Earlier images of the Curvv prototype displayed its front fascia which is quite radical as compared to previous-gen Tata cars. Curvv is based on the brand’s new design philosophy with a sleek LED strip on top and dual-projector LED headlamps inside triangular clusters at the bottom.

From the side, it sports muscular wheel arches and sleek connected LED tail lamps. Other highlights include a wide track, a shark fin antenna, and a prominent bootlid spoiler.

Cabin interiors of Curvv flaunt a minimalist theme with an all-black layout. Highlights include a floating touchscreen infotainment display, a fully-digital instrument console, Tata’s new two-spoke steering wheel with a touch panel, and touch-based HVAC controls. Other notable features expected to be included are powered ORVMs, push-button start, wireless smartphone charging, and panoramic sunroof to name a few.

Tata Curvv spied testing: Expected powertrain specs

Like Nexon and Punch, Curvy will also be available in both ICE and fully-electric derivatives.  The EV version of Curvv is expected to get both single- and dual-motor setups. The former will get a front-wheel drive layout while the latter will get an all-wheel drive configuration. In either, range will be around 400-500 km on a single charge.

The ICE version of Curvv is expected to be powered by a new 1.2-litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine that was showcased at Auto Expo 2023. This motor can push out 123 bhp and 225 Nm of peak torque. Both manual and automatic transmission are likely to be offered. A CNG derivative of the same powertrain is expected to join the lineup at a later stage. The latest test mule spotted is most likely the ICE version of the coupe SUV.
