Curvv is one of the most ambitious projects for Tata Motors. A pre-production concept of the same was unveiled last year. The upcoming crossover will fill the gap between Nexon and Harrier and rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and other models in the compact SUV space.
Tata Curvv launch in 2024
According to a recent online report, Currv will be the first major all-new product launch from Tata Motors in 2024. Test mules of coupe SUV have been spotted on more than a couple of occasions in the recent past. The report further mentions that series production for Curvv is expected to commence from April 2024.

While there is no confirmed launch timeline for Curvv, it is likely to go on sale by May-June next year. Like Nexon, the production-spec Curvv will be available in both EV and ICE forms. Tata Motors is aiming for a combined yearly sales volume of 48,000 for the Curvv brand. As per earlier reports, the battery-powered version of Curvv is expected to go on sale first.
The homegrown carmaker intends to sell 12,000 units of the Curvv EV per year, whereas the rest of the 36,000 units will be accounted for by the ICE derivative which will debut later. Both versions of the Curvv will be built at Tata’s Ranjangaon plant where Nexon is manufactured.
Tata Curvv powertrain options
Tata Curvv is expected to come with three powertrain options– one EV and two ICE. The EV version of Curvv is expected to get both single- and dual-motor setups. The former will get a front-wheel drive layout while the latter will get an all-wheel drive configuration. In either, range will be around 400-500 km on a single charge.

The ICE version of Curvv is expected to be powered by a new 1.2-litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine that was showcased at Auto Expo 2023. This motor can push out 123 bhp and 225 Nm of peak torque. Both manual and automatic transmission are likely to be offered. A CNG derivative of the same powertrain is expected to join the lineup at a later stage.
