New Mahindra Thar ROXX Launch Highlights: The much-anticipated Mahindra Thar Roxx, also known as the five-door Thar, has been unveiled. The Thar Roxx sports a bold new look, featuring a refreshed grille, C-shaped LED DRLs integrated with a projector headlight setup, circular fog lights, diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED tail lights, a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, and sleek rear door-mounted handles.
The entry-level MX 1 petrol and diesel models are priced at Rs. 12.99 lakh and Rs. 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Pricing for the other variants go up to Rs 18.99 lakh.
The MX1 is equipped with Mahindra’s 2.2-litre diesel engine, delivering 148bhp/330 Nm, and a 2.0-litre petrol engine, producing 158bhp/330 Nm. Both engines come paired with a six-speed manual transmission that powers the rear wheels.
As for features, the new Mahindra Thar Roxx includes electric power steering, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, driver seat height adjustment, penta-link suspension with Watt’s link, six standard airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), brake locking differential and premium embossed fabric upholstery.
Inside, the five-door Thar promises a host of modern features, including a panoramic sunroof, ADAS suite, automatic climate control, a fully digital color instrument console, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android connectivity, ventilated front seats, and six airbags. The 5-door Thar brings notable upgrades over the 3-door variant, including a larger touchscreen infotainment system and an impressive 644 liters of boot space. Issues related to space and comfort in the older Thar have been resolved in this new version. The Thar Roxx is also equipped with ADAS Level 2 safety features and a premium 9-speaker audio system for an immersive sound experience.

The Thar Roxx measures 4,428 mm in length, 1,870 mm in width, and 1,923 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. Key specs include a 57L fuel tank, 447L boot space, 41.7° approach angle, 36.1° breakover angle, and 23.9° departure angle. Water-wading depth is an impressive 650 mm.
