Stock markets opened on a flat note on Wednesday morning with the key benchmark indices BSE Sensex trading 20.27 points higher at 27,851.81 and Nifty up 1.55 points at 8,468.05.

At 9.35 am, Sensex was down 20.69 points at 27,810.85. Similarly, Nifty was down 13.00 points at 8,453.55 during the same time.

Sun Pharma: The stocks of the drug major will be in focus after BofA-ML upgraded its stock to buy from neutral and raised the target price to Rs 1,070 from Rs 960 earlier. The global financial institutional firm cited integration with Ranbaxy, price hikes at unit Taro and improvement in US supplies as key reason for the upgrade. The stocks are up 2.27 per cent at Rs 909 in early trade.

Rajesh Exports: The stocks of the company will be in focus as it said on Tuesday that it has bagged an export order worth Rs 1,170 crore from an UAE-based company for gold and diamond-studded jewellery and medallions. The Bangalore-based firm said that the order is to be completed by October, which will significantly add to its bottomline.

DLF: Realty major DLF Ltd has sold four acres of land in Kochi for Rs 111 crore as part of its plan to sell non-core assets to boost cash flows and reduce debt.

Vedanta: Vedanta’s iron ore division in Goa is expected to resume exports to China after a lull of three years.

Infosys: The stocks of the company will be in focus after Infosys Finacle, part of EdgeVerve Systems, a product subsidiary of Infosys announced on Tuesday(after market hours) that Fidelity Bank Plc, Nigeria, one of the fastest growing Commercial Banks in Africa, will migrate its core banking platform from Finacle version 7 to Finacle version 10.

Telecom stocks: The stocks of the telecom companies will be in focus after the Department of Telecom (DoT) told telecom service providers to improve the quality of service. At a meeting between the Secretary, DoT and the CEOs of telecom service providers, the DoT has insisted that telecom operators need to augment their infrastructure by installation of additional towers and base stations in order to address the issue of call drops and Quality of Service.
