Terror attack in Pulwama: Four, 55 Rashtriya Rifles personnel, were martyred on Monday in a gun battle with terrorists in Pulwama on Monday. The forces were conducting searches, the militants fired upon them, triggering off a gun battle.
The slain soldiers are Major V S Dhondial, Havaldar Sheo Ram and Sepoys Hari Singh and Ajay Kumar.
Two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist were killed: Identified as Kamran, a Pakistani national and top commander of the Jaish, and Hilal Ahmad, a local recruited by the terror group, PTI reported. Kamran’s role in the February 14 suicide bombing of a CRPF convoy was under the scanner of investigators.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area during the night after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
A cordon and search operation by the security forces have also been launched in village Krawora in Shopian.
Traders’ body Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has called for a nationwide strike on Monday to express solidarity with the families of 40 CRPF jawans martyred in the Pulwama terror attack last week. In a statement issued yesterday, the CAIT said that commercial markets will remain closed and there will be no business activity through out the day.

The curfew will continue in the night in Jammu and Kashmir. The authority has taken precautionary measures so that no violence takes place. There were no reports of violation of curfew in the day except little disturbances.
India on Saturday hiked the basic customs duty on all goods imported from Pakistan to 200 per cent with immediate effect. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in a tweet said: “India has withdrawn MFN status to Pakistan after the Pulwama incident. Upon withdrawal, basic customs duty on all goods exported from Pakistan to India has been raised to 200% with immediate effect. #Pulwama.”
