In its 2019 avatar, the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R retains its tall boy design. The car has gained dimensions and is longer, wider and taller compared to the outgoing model. The front end of the car now gets LED DRLs while the rear is offered with vertically stacked tail lamps that look impressive. One might see mixed reactions on the design of the new Wagon R and the styling is clearly love it or hate it.
The cabin of the new 2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R now feels more premium and upmarket. The prime highlight is the new touchscreen infotainment system that supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The dashboard gets a dual tone treatment that enhances the overall appeal.
Powering the new 2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R are two engine options. While the 1.0-litre three cylinder engine is good for producing respective power and torque outputs of 67 bhp and 90 Nm, the bigger 1.2-litre four cylinder motor puts out 82 bhp and 113 Nm.
Both the two engine options on the new 2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R come mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard. Apart from this, customers can also opt for an optional automatic gearbox which the company calls AGS (Auto Gear Shift).
All thanks to the upcoming safety norms, the new 2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R gets a standard driver airbag, speed alert system, front seat belt reminders and ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD as standard across all the variants. Apart from this, one will also get reverse parking sensors as standard across the variant range.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR gives a claimed fuel efficiency of 20.52 kmpl for the 1.2-liter variant while the 1.0-liter trim gives a figure of 21.79 kmpl is claimed. The CNG variant with a 1.0-litre petrol engine gives a claimed mileage of 32.52km/kg. It comes with a fuel tank capacity of 32-liters. In a full tank, the 1.2- litre gives a range of about 657km, while the 1.0-litre gives a range of 697km.
