The Maruti Suzuki Eeco has been purposefully designed as a value-for-money people mover. It is 3,675 mm long, 1,475 mm wide and 1,800 mm tall with a ground clearance of 160 mm. It features a simple design with practicality and utility, while the wheelbase of 2,350 mm makes for a well-balanced car. The minimum turning radius of 4.5 metres makes it very manoeuvrable in crowded city streets.
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco comes with a dual tone interior in a grey and beige combination. The scheme is on the dashboard, fabric seats and door panels which make the interior look upmarket. There’s also an AC-equipped version, coupled with good cabin space for up to six adults. The Eeco is an ideal car for a large family. The 2,350 mm wheelbase makes it acceptable in terms of comfort as well. The Maruti Suzuki Eeco has a boot space of 400 litres, which is reasonable for its segment and can be extended for more luggage.
The BS6 version of Eeco comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out 73hp of power and 98Nm of torque. There aren’t any changes in power figures but the torque has been reduced from 101Nm to 98Nm. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is also available with CNG, for more fuel mileage. The 1.2-litre petrol unit with CNG produces 62hp of power and 85Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco has a 5-speed manual gearbox which has a diagonal shift system. This makes the gear changes seamless without any notchiness and sends power to the rear wheels
Maruti Suzuki Eeco comes with safety features like a driver airbag, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert system and seat belt reminders for front passengers as standard.
The BS6 version of Eeco with 1.2-litre petrol engine now gives improved fuel efficiency than the BS4 version. The petrol engine has a claimed fuel efficiency of 16.11kmpl. As for the CNG version, the claimed mileage is 21.94 km/kg. The fuel tank capacity of Eeco is 40 litres.
