Take a look at the Maruti Suzuki XL6 and you will instantly notice that this one looks a lot premium and upmarket than the Ertiga on which it is based. The front end of the vehicle gets a sporty grille with chrome accents along with quad LED headlamps for better illumination in the dark. The faux skid plate looks appealing too and the blacked out 15-inch alloy wheels further takes up the style quotient of the MPV. Things are equally interesting at the rear where you get Ertiga like tail lamps along with a faux skid plate and redesigned bumper.
The interiors of the Maruti Suzuki XL6 get an all black theme, all thanks to which the cabin feels more plush and premium compared to the standard Ertiga. The second row bench seats are now replaced by captain seats for better comfort. The cabin gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other notable features include push start-stop button, height adjustment for driver’s seat, rear air conditioning vents and keyless entry.
Maruti Suzuki XL6 draws power from a 1.5-litre petrol engine that comes with two transmission options in the form of a five-speed manual and a four-speed torque converter automatic. The BS-VI compliant engine is good for churning out respective power and torque outputs of 103hp and 138Nm. The engine also features the company;s mild hybrid technology to deliver a better fuel efficiency.
The Maruti Suzuki XL6 gets two gearbox options. First, a five-speed manual transmission and second, a four-speed torque converter automatic. Both these work efficiently and deliver the desired results.
In terms of features and safety, the Maruti Suzuki XL6 gets quad LED headlamps up front and these perform better than the regular halogen units. The XL6 comes to a halt with the help of disc brakes up front along with drum brakes at the rear. Standard safety features on the Maruti Suzuki XL6 include dual airbags up front, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, speed alert system and seat belt reminder.
All thanks to the company’s SHVS mild hybrid technology, the Maruti Suzuki XL6 returns an ARAI claimed fuel efficiency of 19 kmpl which is quite decent for a vehicle of this size and proportion. The vehicle has been fitted with a fuel tank having 45-litre capacity and hence, you can expect a range of 750 km once you fill the tank to the fullest.
