
The new Dzire is the first in its segment to offer automatic transmission (AGS) in both petrol and diesel variants.
ABS with EBD, dual airbags, ISOFIX, front seat belts with pre-tensioner and force limiter will be available on all variants as standard.
The top end Zxi and Zdi plus variants will get an infotainment system with voice control, navigation and AndroidAuto/Apple Car Play.
The new Dzire is based on the company’s ‘Heartect’ B-platform that makes the sedan weigh lesser by up to 105 kg for the diesel and 85 kg for the petrol versions, which helps provide a better fuel efficiency. The Dzire comes with LED projector headlamps with DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), LED tail lamps, chrome embellished front grille and 15-inch alloy wheels.
The Dzire has better looking interior with dual tone colour schemes in black with faux wood and beige optional upholstery. The top versions get an infotainment system with voice control, navigation and Android Auto and Apple Car Play.
The 2020 Dzire comes only with one engine, the K12C, 1.2-petrol. The manufacturer has replaced the earlier BS6 petrol unit with this K12C Dualjet engine which generates more power than the K12B. It produces 89hp of power and 113Nm of torque.
The engines are paired to an automatic transmission or what the company calls AGS – Auto Gear Shift, along with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
In terms of safety, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets ABS with EBD, dual-front airbags and rear parking sensors as standard. Now the Dzire AMT variants get more additional safety with ESP(Electronic Stability Programme) and Hill Hold Assist as standard. The top-end variants of the compact sedan come with Reverse parking camera, front fog lamps, and rear de-fogger.
Under the hood, the Dzire gets 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine which gives an improved mileage. The manufacturer claims that the fuel efficiency of Dzire manual is 23.26kmpl and 24.12kmpl for automatic transmisison.
