KTM 790 Duke
KTM 790 Duke is the company’s most powerful motorcycle in India as of now. The 790 Duke, also known as ‘Scalpel’ is KTM’s answer to the likes of some of the most admired naked middleweights namely Ducati Monster 821, Suzuki GSX-S750, Yamaha MT-09 and the Kawasaki Z900. The 790 Duke takes design and styling inspiration from its elder sibling – the 1290 Duke. Powering the Scalpel is a 799cc, parallel twin engine mated to a six-speed transmission system that is good for developing respective power and torque outputs of 105hp and 86Nm. Suspension system of the bike comprises of WP inverted forks up front along with a monoshock at the rear. KTM 790 Duke was launched in India at a price of Rs 8.64 lakh (ex-showroom).

KTM 790 Duke Braking and Safety
KTM 790 Duke gets its stopping power from twin 300mm disc brakes up front along with a single 240mm disc brake at the rear. The bike gets a full LED lighting system that lights up the road ahead better than a regular halogen unit. In terms of safety, the KTM 790 Duke gets a lean sensitive traction control system along with cornering ABS and a wheelie control. Moreover, the bike gets multiple riding modes including a ‘Supermoto’ mode that switches off the ABS at the rear wheel.

The KTM 790 Duke returns a claimed fuel efficiency of close to 22.7 kmpl. The bike has been fitted with a 14 litre fuel tank. That said, you can get a range of close to 250 km once you get a full top up. With that in mind, you might have to take a couple of stops for a refill during journeys when you are planning to ride all day long.
