Hyundai’s successful dispatch of 17,350 Creta units in July, surpassing the 1 lakh milestone, paved the way for the midsize SUV to claim the top position. Top 5 SUVs in July: Hyundai Creta
July showed how the power of a brand can do wonders for the entire company. Even though Hyundai witnessed a drop in sales figures from June 2024 to July 2024, it was the Creta brand that propelled the South Korean automobile manufacturer to unprecedented heights. Month-on-month (m-o-m) basis, Creta sold 16,293 units in June 2024 and announced an increase of 6 per cent in July. Creta registered a 23 per cent spike year-on-year (y-o-y) as 14,062 Creta units were sold in July 2023.
Top 5 SUVs in July: Tata Punch
Tata Motors saw a drop of 12 per cent m-o-m as it sold 16,121 Punch units in July as compared to 18,238 units in June. The sub-compact SUV has consistently been the best-selling vehicle m-o-m basis. The reason for the demand to dip for the Punch is that Tata Motors is expected to launch the 2024 updated version of the popular SUV. The Punch continues to register a growth y-o-y and saw a 34 per cent growth as it sold 12,019 units in July 2023.

Top 5 SUVs in July: Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Maruti Suzuki’s best-selling SUV retained its third position and continues to be the leader in its segment. The Brezza clocked 14,676 units in July 2024 is an 11 per cent growth m-o-m as it sold 13,172 units in June 2024. In terms of y-o-y comparison, the Brezza saw an 11 per cent dip as it announced the sale of 16,543 units in July 2023.

Top 5 SUVs in July: Tata Nexon
The Tata Nexon is the second compact SUV to be in the list and recorded 13,902 units in July 2024. The Tata SUV saw a 15 per cent m-o-m growth as it registered 12,066 units. Total numbers for Nexon include both ICE and EV models. The compact SUV also registered a 13 per cent growth y-o-y as it sold 12,349 units. Tata Motors launched the facelift Nexon last year in September.

Top 5 SUVs in July: Mahindra Scorpio
The Scorpio registered 12,237 units in July 2024, which saw a slight dip of 1 per cent on m-o-m as it sold 12,307 units in June. In terms of y-o-y, the SUV saw a rise of 16 per cent as the company recorded 10,522 units in July 2023. The Scorpio continues to be Mahindra’s best-selling vehicle.
