Traditionally, the title of the king of SUVs has been a three-way battle between the Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and the Hyundai Creta. However, in February, the Fronx made a bold entrance, claiming the top spot. Maruti Suzuki’s sub-4-metre SUV sold 21,461 units, surpassing the second-place Creta by 5,144 units. The Brezza secured third place with 15,392 units.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
The Fronx topping the sales charts in February might even be a surprise for Maruti Suzuki. The Fronx sold 21,461 units, which is quite unprecedented as it only managed 15,192 units in January. Last month, Maruti Suzuki saw a slight growth in its hatchback segment from the Swift and the Baleno as it rose from 71,627 units year-on-year to 72,942 units.

Hyundai Creta
The Creta managed to muster up 16,317 units in February, which was a dip as it sold 18,522 units in January 2025. In terms of total monthly domestic sales, Hyundai recorded 47,727 units and 11,000 units in exports. The Korean manufacturer continues to see a growth of 6.8% YoY in export sales in February 2025.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza
It looks like February was a month of comebacks for Maruti Suzuki as the Brezza took third place with 15,392 units. The SUV was the eleventh best-selling vehicle with 14,747 units. The sub-4 metre vehicle topped the sales charts in December 2024.

Tata dynamic duo — Nexon and Punch
The two Tata SUVs, the Nexon and the Punch managed to muscle their way to fourth and fifth position and kept Mahindra Scorpio at bay. The Nexon sold 15,349 units, while the Punch registered 14,559 units. In January 2025, the Punch was the second best-selling SUV and registered 16,231 units while the Nexon was eighth best with 15,397 units.
