The Indian passenger vehicle market recorded a sales volume of 3,34.868 units in November this year which resulted in a 4% YoY growth and over 14% MoM decline. The top 10 cars sold in November include models from OEMs including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, and Mahindra.
Top 10 cars sold in November: Maruti takes lead
Maruti continued its domination in the Indian passenger vehicle market with the top 3 spot occupied by the company’s models. Maruti WagonR was the top seller last month with 16,567 units dispatched to dealerships which led to a YoY growth of 13%. WagonR was followed by Dzire with 15,965 units sold last month. This translated into a 10% YoY growth.

The subcompact sedan was closely trailed by its hatchback sibling– Swift– which recorded a monthly sales volume of 15,311 units which resulted in a marginal 1% YoY growth.
Top 10 cars sold in November: Tata Nexon, Punch
Tata Motors took a sizable share of the pie with both its subcompact SUVs registering high monthly volumes. Nexon, occupying the fourth spot, recorded a monthly volume of 14,916 units which resulted in a 6% YoY decline. Nexon received a comprehensive facelift earlier this year which witnessed redesigned exterior and feature upgrades. Punch, on the other hand, witnessed a monthly volume of 14,383 units which marked a significant YoY growth of 19%.

Top 10 cars sold in November: Brezza, Baleno, Ertiga
The sixth, seventh and eighth spots were taken by Maruti models. The Indo-Japanese carmaker sold 13,393 units of Brezza in November as opposed to 11,324 units which led to a 18% YoY growth. The subcompact SUV was followed by Baleno which witnessed a significant drop in sales volume.
The premium hatchback registered a monthly volume of 12,961 units in November this year as opposed to 20,945 units in the corresponding month last year. This translates to a YoY drop of 38%. Ertiga also witnessed a YoY drop of 7% as the MPV recorded a sales volume of 12,857 units.
Top 10 cars sold in November: SUVs from Mahindra, Hyundai
Mahindra and Hyundai broke into the top 10 list with their respective SUV offerings. The former sold 12,185 units of the Scorpio range comprising Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic. It witnessed the highest YoY growth of 89% from 6455 units sold in November last year.

Sales of Hyundai Creta also faced a 11% YoY drop with 11,814 units sold last month. During the same period last year, the Korean brand sold 13,321 units. Hyundai is slated to give Creta a comprehensive makeover which is expected to make its debut in India in January 2024.
