OEMs usually offer hefty discounts in the year end to lure customers which is otherwise a lean sales period. However, these offers are usually limited to combustion engine vehicles. Tata Motors is the undisputed market leader in the passenger electric vehicle (EV) segment with a total of five offerings and plans to expand beyond.
The company has found a unique opportunity to give impetus to its EV sales at the fag end of the calendar year. According to a recent Autocar India report, it is offering free charging for customers who buy the Nexon EV or Curvv EV. This offer is valid for vehicles bought between December 9 and December 31, 2024.
Tata Nexon EV, Curvv EV free charging conditions
This scheme was previously available during the festive season as well between September 10 and October 31. However, they come with certain conditions. This offer is exclusive to Tata Power EZ’s 5,500+ charging stations nationwide. Vehicle registration on the Tata Power EZ Charge app is required and takes two days to activate.
Only privately registered, first-owner vehicles purchased from dealerships are eligible. The offer is limited to 1,000 units of electricity consumed while charging or six months since the purchase date of the car, whichever comes first. Standard tariffs apply thereafter.
Tata Nexon EV, Curvv EV battery options
Tata Motors offers two battery pack options with Nexon EV: a 30 kWh and a 45 kWh. The former offers a 325 km range while the latter promises 489 km range on a single charge. Similarly, Curvv EV also comes with two battery pack options: 45 kWh and 55 kWh. The former claims an ARAI-rated range of 502 km on a single charge while the latter gets a 585 km range.
