Over the past few months, the automobile market has been abuzz with discussions on tax rebates for hybrid vehicles and whether they are the solution to clean and sustainable energy, or if a greater emphasis should be placed on all-electric vehicles. Amidst this debate, CNG technology has surged ahead, witnessing a 46 percent increase from January to August this year. Jato Dynamics reports that petrol vehicles experienced a 4.5 percent decline, while hybrids and EVs saw increases of 19 per cent and 7 per cent, respectively. Tata Motors has adeptly navigated this landscape, particularly in the compact SUV segment, with the recent launch of the Nexon CNG. The Nexon CNG is available at an ex-showroom price ranging from Rs 8.99 lakh to Rs 14.59 lakh.

Here are five top features that make the Nexon CNG stand out against its competition.

The Tata Nexon doesn’t come with a naturally aspirated petrol engine, hence, it is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol powertrain. This makes the Nexon the first CNG vehicle in India to get a turbo petrol engine. It produces 99 bhp at 5500 rpm and 170 Nm at 2000 – 3000 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. An AMT gearbox is in the pipeline and could make its debut later.
