Power Surge: Tata Harrier EV set to debut in 2025

The Tata Harrier EV is finally ready to make its entrance in March 2025, and it’s not coming alone—it’ll be going head-to-head with the soon-to-arrive Mahindra XEV 9e.

After much anticipation, Tata Motors has confirmed that the Harrier EV will make its debut next year. The Harrier EV first made an appearance at the 2023 Auto Expo, followed by a second showing at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. Tata Motors, already the proud owner of the largest EV lineup in the country (with the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Punch EV, Nexon EV, and Curvv EV), is all set to add the Harrier to the list. With the Harrier EV, Tata will officially have six electrified vehicles in its garage.

Tata Harrier EV: Powertrain

At the 2023 Auto Expo, Tata Motors announced that the new Harrier EV will be available it multiple setups — like single or dual motors, front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. The Harrier will be the first Tata Motors EV that will be equipped with a twin motor set-up and all-wheel-drive. According to a report by Carwale, Tata Motors is planning to launch the much-awaited Harrier EV in March 2025.

Tata Harrier EV: Features

The Harrier EV is expected to more-or-less retain its ICE version’s cabin layout. It could be equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment system by Harman with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay,  electronic parking brake with auto hold, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof with ambient lights, multifunctional steering wheel with illuminated Tata insignia, dual-zone climate control, 10.25-inch driver’s console with navigation system and premium 10 speaker music system along with voice command assistants like Alexa. The Harrier EV will offer various charging options like a wireless phone charger and a Type-C fast charger.

Tata Harrier EV: Safety

The Harrier EV will get a flurry of safety features starting from Level 2 ADAS like lane keep assist, blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, forward and rear collision warning and much more. The EV SUV will also get 7 airbags, an emergency call or breakdown call, a tyre pressure monitoring system and an electronic stability program.
