Sunroofs have become a desirable feature for Indian car buyers and many of them are ready to pay a premium to get this feature in their new car. This is despite the fact that India experiences a sub-tropical climate for most parts of the year. Let us look at some of the most affordable cars with electric sunroofs on sale in India.
Cars with sunroof under Rs 10 lakh
- Tata Altroz
Tata Altroz is currently the most affordable car in India that can be had with an electric sunroof. The most affordable variant of Altroz with a sunroof is priced at Rs 7.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Apart from a long list of features, Altroz also comes with an attractive design as well as reliable engines with multiple gearbox options.

- Hyundai Exter
Exter is the latest entrant in Hyundai’s lineup, and the brand’s smallest SUV in India. It is also the company’s most affordable offering with a sunroof which can be had at Rs 8.0 lakh (ex-showroom) with the SX trim. The micro-SUV gets a single 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine option paired with either a manual or an AMT gearbox.
- Tata Punch
Exter is followed by its direct rival Tata Punch which offers a sunroof with the Accomplished variant starting at Rs 8.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Like Altroz, Punch offers a good set of features at a competitive price tag. It is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine available with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox. Like the models mentioned above, Punch is also available with a CNG option.

- Mahindra XUV300
Mahindra recently introduced the sunroof feature in the W4 trim, prices for which start at Rs 8.66 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it the most affordable SUV in its segment to offer an electric sunroof. There are three engine options on offer including a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol unit, a 1.5-litre diesel unit, and a 1.2-litre mStallion turbo petrol mill.

- Hyundai i20
Hyundai i20 offers a sunroof in the Asta variant, prices for which start at Rs 9.28 lakh (ex-showroom). It is one of the best-looking premium hatchbacks and like its rival– Tata Altroz– it gets a long list of features. Besides a naturally aspirated petrol motor, it also received a turbocharged petrol mill, along with a throatier N-Line variant in India.

- Tata Nexon
Tata Motors recently introduced a facelifted model of Nexon earlier this month. In its latest avatar, Nexon offers a sunroof starting with the Smart+ trim, prices for which start at Rs 9.70 lakh (ex-showroom). This variant of the Nexon is powered by the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine which is exclusively paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
