SML Isuzu took the wraps off a new series of trucks at the Auto Expo 2018. The new series of trucks, called Global Series, includes Samrat GS HD19, Sartaj GS CNG Turbo, and Samrat GS Tipper Chassis. SML Isuzu also put on display a passenger segment vehicle, the Executive Lx Bus with a turbo CNG engine. Alongside the commercial vehicles, SML Isuzu also launched it ‘advanced Telematics Solution’ today at Auto Expo 2018. Called the SML Saarthi, Isuzu says the application will revolutionise transport management and on-road 24*7 support service. SML Saarthi has been developed jointly with MINDA iConnect.The driver can use the mobile application SML Saarthi to contact the nearest service centre in case of a breakdown. It can also assist in getting better vehicle insurance and finance options. SML Saarthi device will be installed on all Global Series trucks as standard and all SML buses will be equipped with them by April as per the regulations.
With government plans of implementing BSVI emission standards in 2020, SML Isuzu plans to update and upgrade its product portfolio to the industry standards.SML Isuzu has been in India since 1984 and was initially established Swaraj Mazda Ltd. The new name, SML Isuzu, was coined when the company went through a tie-up with Japanese CV manufacturer, Isuzu. The company deal in LCV and ICV trucks and buses.
