India's sugar production is set to rise by 18% in the 2025-26 season, thanks to good monsoon rains. This will enable the country to export 2 MT and divert 5 MT for ethanol manufacturing. The ISMA predicts a growth in sugar output and sugarcane production in major states. The industry is seeking government support for timely exports and price revisions to improve cash flows.
