India, Pakistan extend reciprocal airspace ban for fifth straight month
India and Pakistan have extended their bans on each other's airlines until September 24, causing financial strain for Indian carriers. This is the fifth month of closure, which was first imposed in April after a terror attack. The bans have led to 800 weekly flights being affected and increased costs due to longer detours. In 2019, a similar shutdown had cost Indian airlines Rs 700 crore.
