Sensex hits new highs in 2025

The domestic benchmark indices of India – BSE Sensex recorded its all-time highest closing at 86,159.02 points on December 1, 2025. This surpassed its previous peak of 85,978 from 2024.

The benchmark in the early April saw the 52-week low around 71,425.

Furthermore, the index also saw multiple intraday highs in late November and December, reaching 86,026 on November 27 before settling slightly lower. April marked another key moment when the Sensex crossed 80,000 for the first time.

Nifty 50 sets new record in 2025

The Nifty 50 also climbed to 26,325.80 points on December 1, 2025, its highest ever level. It surpassed the previous all-time high of 26,277.35 in September 2024.

Prior to this, the index reached 26,310.45 during intraday trading, marking a fresh record before the December peak on November 27, 2025.

The 2025 rally highlighted strong broad index performance, with previous all-time highs of 26,178.75 set on September 27, 2024.

Bank Nifty breaks 60,000

The Bank Nifty hit a historic intraday peak of around 60,114.30 on December 1, 2025, crossing the 60,000 mark for the first time. Before this, the index had already touched 59,802.65 in late November.

This year, the Bank Nifty saw multiple record levels. On October 17, it reached 57,651.30, surpassing the July high of 57,628.40 recorded on July 2.

Furthermore, in late June, it marked a benchmark with 57,414.95 on June 27, just above the 57,263.45 from the previous day.

Earlier that, the index had first crossed 57,000 on June 9.

Nifty Midcap 100 hits lifetime high

The Nifty Midcap 100 reached its all-time high at 61,311.25 on December 1, 2025. Before this, it had already touched around 61,011 on November 12, breaking past the previous 2024 high of 60,925.95 recorded in September.

Nifty 500 climbs broadly

The Nifty 500, representing the top 500 NSE-listed companies, also hit a record on December 1, 2025, reaching around 24,035 points.
