Congress leader Ajay Rai today said that while the previous government had a decisive majority, the current government is a coalition comprising support from parties like TDP, JDU, and others. He suggests that this coalition might hinder the government’s ability to carry out the same work as before because the supporting parties have differing ideologies from those previously aligned with the government.
Awadhesh Prasad, the victorious candidate from Faizabad (Ayodhya) representing the Samajwadi Party, expressed his views, saying that Modi would meet the expectations of the people and contribute to the growth of the nation. He extended heartfelt congratulations to Modi on this occasion.
BJP MP-elect Anurag Thakur congratulated Narendra Modi today. He also extended his best wishes to all the ministers, hoping they excel in their roles and steer the country towards progress over the next five years. Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh took a dig at Modi saying that his tribute to Mahatma Gandhi ahead of the swearing-in ceremony is ‘breath-taking hypocrisy’. The Congress leader took to platform X and wrote, “Aap track record dekhiye–His ideological brotherhood created such a toxic environment of hostility and hatred that it resulted in the cold-blooded murder of the Mahatma on January 30th, 1948.”
Around 50 individuals from the transgender community have been invited to Narendra Modi‘s swearing-in ceremony. Ahead of the event, BJP MP and former Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar welcomed the transgender guests at his house. He said that inviting them is part of Modi‘s idea – ‘sabka saath sabka vishwas and sabha prayas’.
Narendra Modi’s third term in office comes after the NDA emerged as the winner in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, winning 293 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats. The INDIA bloc of Opposition parties, on the other hand, managed to secure 233 seats which is 39 short of the majority mark of 272. On Friday, the newly-elected MPs of the NDA met in the Central Hall of the old Parliament building and unanimously endorsed Narendra Modi as their leader, paving way for him to stake claim and form the government as Prime Minister.
