Delhi PWD minister Atishi Saturday dismissed Lt Governor V K Saxena’s allegation that AAP ministers attended just one G20 preparatory meet, and said “had he involved us in preparations, we would have done better”. The minister also said the AAP dispensation asked for Rs 927 crore from the Centre for the G20 preparations but did not get a single penny. However, she insisted now is not the time for a credit war.

India court orders Jet Airways founder to remain in custody till September 11

An Indian court on Saturday decided that Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal will remain in India’s financial crime agency’s custody until Sept. 11, according to two people familiar with the matter. Enforcement Directorate, which investigates financial crimes in India, had arrested Goyal late on Friday night.

Vij directed the Sonipat Police Commissioner to investigate and take immediate action on a complaint of a man living in the Housing Board of Ambala Cantonment alleging that he was duped of Rs 40 lakh in the name of sending his son to America. He alleged that the agent told them that he sends youth abroad and works in an airline.

Gold worth Rs 2.73 cr seized at Delhi Airport; 2 held

Air Customs at personnel at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport has seized gold worth Rs 2.73 crores and arrested one Russian and a Tajik national in this case, reports saidd. According to the statement, the seized gold weighed 5,488 grams. The passengers had arrived from Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

Aditya L1 Launch LIVE Updates: Nearly two more hours to go

Aditya-L1, India’s inaugural solar space observatory, is set to embark on its mission aboard the PSLV-C57. The launch for this sun mission is slated for Saturday at 1150 IST, originating from the launch pad located in Sriharikota. All necessary launch rehearsal and vehicle internal checks have been successfully executed. The observatory is equipped with seven distinct payloads to facilitate an extensive examination of the sun. Among these payloads, four are designed to observe solar light, while the remaining three are dedicated to measuring in-situ parameters related to plasma and magnetic fields.

Biden to visit India for G20 Summit

The G-20 Summit will take place at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, on September 9 and 10. Delhi Police holds full dress rehearsals; traffic to be affected

Delhi Police on Saturday held full dress rehearsals for the G20 Summit, escorting carcades from different parts of the national capital towards the New Delhi district, officials said. The timings for the rehearsal are 8.30 am to 12 pm, 4.30 pm to 6 pm, and 7 pm to 11 pm. The commuters have been advised to use metro services as traffic is likely to be affected.
