The BMW 6-series GT is widely known as one of the most modern looking Beamers. The coupe like styling is one of the prime visual highlights of the car and in our opinion, it looks better than the 5-series. In fact, the 6-series GT comes based on the 5-series GT and still it looks bigger and is lightweight than its predecessor. The new model looks more proportionate than the previous model.
Just like the BMW 5-series, the interiors on the 6-series GT are equally luxurious. The iDrive infotainment system gets touch and gesture control. Besides, the cabin gets mood lighting along with Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system and you will love it if you are a real audiophile. There is also a heads up display and a four zone automatic climate control.
The BMW 6-series GT uses the same 2.0-litre, turbocharged, four cylinder petrol engine that powers the 5-series. The engine is good for churning out a peak power output of 258 bhp. BMW also plans to launch a 2.0-litre diesel and a 3.0-litre engine having output of 190 bhp and 265 bhp respectively but at a later stage.
The existing 2.0-litre petrol and the upcoming diesel engines on the BMW 6-series GT come mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox. The transmission is the same for two upcoming diesel engines as well of the 6-series GT.
The BMW 6-series GT gets disc brakes all around along with an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) for added safety. The car gets an air suspension system in order to offer a smooth and comfortable ride. Standard LED headlights are also offered with the car and these offer better illumination compared to the regular units.
The BMW 6-series GT returns a fuel efficiency of close to 10 kmpl in standard driving conditions. The figure changes for the better when you are going touring on open expressways.
