The BMW 7 Series is the flagship sedan offering from the German carmaker. It is offered in three engine options, two diesel engine and a petrol engine. The BMW 730Ld comes four variants, 730Ld Design Pure Excellence, 730Ld M Sport, 730Ld DPE Signature and the 730Ld Design Pure Experience. The BMW 740Li is available only in one variant 740Li DPE Signature whereas the BMW 750Li comes in two variants, 750Li DPE and 750Li M Sport, both being directly imported to India. In terms of safety, the BMW 7 Series comes with ABS (Anti lock Braking System) with brake assist, airbags, electronic vehicle immobiliser and active front seat headrests. The BMW 7 Series uses the iconic kidney shaped engine grille with horizontal slats. The BMW 7 Series is offered with the company's Laser light with LED high and low beam module which is coupled with LED cornering lights. The luxury sedan also features 19 inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) with embedded LED indicators. It also features the keyless entry as well as remote boot opening function.
The BMW 7 Series features electrically adjustabke front seats with memory function and the driver's seat also has lumbar support. It comes with an ambient air and light package. The 7 Series has a 4-zone automatic climate control with heat insulation on the windscreeen, windows and rear glass. It is also offered with a panoramic sunroof with Sky lounge integrated with LED light graphics. The steering column is electrically adjustable and all seats are offered with a heating/ventilation function.
The BMW 7 Series has three engine options a 2,993cc diesel engine, a 2,998 cc petrol engine and a 4,395 cc petrol engine. The 2,993 cc diesel engine generates 265 hp of power at 4,000 rpm and 620 Nm of torque between 2,000 and 2,500 rpm. The 2,998 cc petrol engine generates 326 hp of power at 5,500 rpm and 450 Nm of torque between 1,380 rpm and 5,000 rpm whereas the 4,395 cc petrol engine produces 450 hp of power at 5,500 rpm and 650 Nm of torque between 1,800 rpm and 4,500 rpm. All three engines are refined and tuned for the best balance between performance and fuel efficiency.
All engines of the BMW 7 Series are equipped with an 8 speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission. The transmission offers smooth gear changes and feature well-tuned ratios that offers a good balance between fuel efficiency and performance.
The BMW 7 Series is offered with DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), CBC (Corner Braking Control), ABS (Anti lock Braking System) with brake assist, airbags, electronic vehicle immobiliser and active front seat headrests. It also comes with side-impact protection with runflat tyres with reinforced side walls.
The BMW 7 Series petrol variants come with a certified mileage of 12.05 kmpl whereas the diesel variants come with a 16.77 kmpl. These figures are acceptable for its segment.
