It’s the clash of Tata Motors and Mahindra in the electric vehicle space. Tata’s Curvv EV may or may not have managed to snag the headlines like Mahindra’s BE 6, but it is aggressively priced. The Tata EV coupe SUV may be a more affordable option, but does that automatically make it an outright choice? We think not. This is the reason why we are comparing the top variant of the Curvv EV, the Empowered+ A 55 against the BE 6 mid trim, the Pack Two.
Tata Curvv EV top trim vs Mahindra BE 6 mid-trim: Specs and PerformanceÂ

The Curvv EV Empowered+ A 55 is powered by a 55 kWh battery pack that produces 165 bhp and 215 Nm of torque. It has three drive modes — Eco, City and Sport. According to Tata Motors, it does 0 – 100 kmph in 8.6 seconds and offers a range of 502 km on a single charge. A 70 kW DC fast charger takes 10 – 80 per cent in 40 minutes and a 7.2 kW fast charger takes 10 – 100 per cent in 7.9 hours.Â
The BE 6 Pack Two gets a 59 kWh battery that has a superior output of 228 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. According to MIDC, the BE 6 Pack Two has a driving range of 557 km. It does 0 – 100 kmph in 6.7 seconds. It offers five driving modes — Range, Everyday, Race, Snow and Custom and four regeneration modes. With a 175 kW DC fast charger, the battery charges from 20 to 80 per cent in 20 minutes while an 11 kW AC fast charger takes around 6 hours.

Both the Curvv EV and BE 6 get all LED lights, flush doors, cornering fog lamps and sequential indicators. The Tata EV sports 18-inch alloy wheels while the BE 6 gets 19-inch ones. Being the top variant, the Curvv EV Empowered+ A 55 sports leatherette upholstery as compared to BE 6 Pack Two’s fabric. The two EV SUV’s are equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto but the BE 6 gets a bigger 12.3-inch driver’s console and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system while the Curvv EV comes with a 10.25-inch instrument cluster with a 9-speaker JBL music system. The Mahindra EV has a glass roof while the Curvv EV sports a panoramic sunroof.

The Curvv EV and the BE 6 have earned five five-star safety ratings from Bharat NCAP. The EV SUVs are equipped with Level 2 ADAS, 6 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, rain sensing wipers, electronic parking brake, electronic stability control and ABS with EBD.
