Tata .EV has announced its Open Collaboration 2.0 initiative to enhance the charging infrastructure across India. The main aim of this new initiative is to double India’s charging infrastructure, launch unified payment wallets, set up super-fast charging stations and a dedicated 24×7 customer care for all charging-related inquiries.
Tata EV Mega Chargers
With modern electric vehicles flooding the market, the expectations of the customers have evolved. From range anxiety, now, it’s all about fast and reliable charging facilities. Tata EV will introduce superfast facilities — Mega Chargers with up to 120 kW capacity. These setups will offer basic amenities like eating joints and restrooms. Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility confirmed that the company will set up 500 mega chargers in the first phase in two years. Each station will be able to juice up to four vehicles. Initially, the mega chargers will be manned for easy access and operation for the customers and these stations will be available to all OEMs. Rajan stated that Tata EV customers will receive a 25 per cent discount.Â
Seamless payment solution
Tata EV will streamlining the payment process at the charging stations by offering a single app across Tata Power’s partners including ChargeZone, Statiq and Zeon. There is also an option for an RFID card.
To ensure a seamless experience, Tata will provide 24/7 customer care to address any concerns, making the charging network more accessible and reliable as EV adoption continues to grow.
Verified Chargers
Via the iRA app, customers will be able to check the status of charging stations, whether they are functioning or not. Tata EV will rate the most frequently used stations and will rate them based on customer feedback. Any charging station rated 4 and higher will get a verified status which will be displayed on the app. This feature will help EV owners plan their journey without having any range anxiety.
