Bajaj has proved how successful an electric scooter can be, with just one product on offer in this space — Bajaj has registered the highest sales in the last quarter of FY25. Bajaj now holds 29% market share in the segment, while in Maharashtra, India’s largest EV market, Bajaj holds 50 percent market share. Also, Bajaj’s domestic revenue from EVs and CNG vehicles account for 40 percent.

Bajaj Chetak sales vs competition

Bajaj reigned supreme in March 2025 sales as well, beating competition fair and square. Last month, Bajaj sold 34,863 units of the Chetak EV, beating competition from TVS, Ola, Ather, Hero, and others in the electric scooter segment. Bajaj sells the Chetak in multiple variants, while the case is the same with TVS and Hero. However, Ather and Ola sell multiple EVs.

Commenting on Chetak’s sales performance, Eric Vas, President, Urbanite Business Unit, Bajaj Auto Ltd., said, “We are happy to reach this coveted milestone, Chetak has once again become a customer favourite, from ICE to its Electric avatar. Bajaj Auto has led the EV revolution with its offerings in the 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler space.”
