Indian auto major Mahindra’s electric vehicle offering is limited to the XUV400, based on the older XUV300, but larger in dimension and tweaked. Now, with the launch of the XUV 3X0, Mahindra is developing an all-electric version with a key goal to take on the Tata Nexon, which is available in ICE and all-electric trims.
Mahindra XUV 3X0 EV: What to expect?
The Mahindra XUV 3X0 EV will largely be based on the ICE version, and the image seen here is the first time the 3X0 EV has been spied testing. The images show that the SUV retains most design elements from its ICE sibling, although, this is just a prototype.
The production version will have a different colour scheme for certain parts of the e-3X0, which will distinguish it from the ICE version. That said, there will be certain parts exclusive to the electric 3X0 like the aero wheels.
In terms of battery specifications, there is no word yet, but expect the vehicle to have a tweaked version of the battery pack and motor from the current XUV400. Mahindra could also have two versions of the e-3X0, one as a standard range and the other being a long-range option. As for the launch of the electric 3X0, it is some time away as the picture seen is only a prototype.
