Top 5 SUVs in November 2024: Hyundai Creta leads the pack

The Creta remains the top-selling SUV, followed by two models each from Tata and one from Maruti Suzuki.

There’s no stopping the SUV juggernaut as they are six out of ten best-selling vehicles in November 2024. The mid-size SUV, the Hyundai Creta, continues to be one of the top three most successful vehicles and is the number one SUV in the country. Tata Punch and Nexon have made a comeback as one of the top five vehicles sold last month after being seventh and ninth in October 2024.

Hyundai’s top top-selling vehicle, the Creta, remains the SUV to beat as it sold 15,452 units in November. This is a healthy 31 per cent hike in year on year as compared to November 2023. As November was not a stellar month for automobile sales, the Creta clocked 17,497 units in October 2024. It saw a 34 per cent rise in October YoY. 

The Creta is available in three engines — a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. Hyundai offers a range of transmission options like 6-speed manual, CVT, 7-speed dual clutch automatic and a 6-speed automatic torque converter. 

Price: Rs 11 lakh to Rs 20.30 lakh, ex-showroom

Tata Punch

The Punch is the most successful sub compact SUV, which registered 15,435 units, a 7 per cent YoY growth. The SUV managed to clock 15,740 units in October 2024 with a 3 per cent hike in YoY. The Punch is available in CNG, petrol and electric. 

The 1.2-litre petrol produces 86.5 bhp with 115 Nm and is mated to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. The CNG, on the other hand, churns out 72.4 bhp and 103 Nm of torque mated to a manual transmission. The EV comes In two battery pack options —  25 kWh and 35 kWh batteries. The entry-level develops 80 bhp and 114 Nm while the top model pumps out 121 bhp and 190 Nm.

Petrol — Rs 6.13 lakh to Rs 10 lakh

CNG — Rs 7.23 lakh to Rs 9.90 lakh

EV— Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14.29 lakh

Tata Nexon

The Tata Nexon sold 15,329 units in November, marking a 3 per cent year-on-year increase. This is a rise from 14,759 units sold in October 2024. The Nexon is the only car in India available in four different powertrains: petrol, diesel, CNG, and electric. The petrol version features a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that delivers 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre diesel engine generates 113 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. The Nexon CNG uses the same turbo petrol engine, producing 99 bhp and 170 Nm. Transmission options are versatile, including a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). On the electric front, the Nexon EV offers two battery options: a 30 kWh pack producing 127 bhp and a 40.5 kWh pack with 143 bhp, both delivering 215 Nm of torque.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza

The Brezza clocked 14,918 units while in October it registered 16,565. November saw YoY 11 per cent increase and October saw a marginal 3 per cent growth. The Brezza is available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an output of 101 bhp and 136.8 Nm of torque. It is also available in CNG which produces 86.6 bhp and 121.5 Nm. The Brezza has two transmission options, the 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. 

Price: Rs 8.34 lakh to Rs 13.98 lakh, ex-showroom

Maruti Suzuki Fronx

The Fronx is the fifth most successful SUV in November as it sold 14,882 units, which is a massive 51 per cent YoY growth. In October, the Fronx registered 16,419 units, a 45 per cent YoY hike. The Fronx is powered by a 1.2-litre 88.5 bhp and 113 Nm mate to either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. The CNG, on the other hand, churns out 76.4 bhp and is only available with a manual transmission. There is also the 99bhp 1-litre turbo petrol available with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter.

Price: Rs 8.37 lakh to Rs 9.38 lakh, ex-showroom
