Maruti Suzuki launched the new Alto K10 last year and currently, it is the most affordable automatic car in the market. Powered by a 1-litre engine, it churns out 66bhp and 89Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed AMT and according to Maruti Suzuki, the car returns 24.90 kmpl. It comes standard with twin airbags, ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution and reverse parking sensors.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso

If you are in the market for a tall-boy hatchback which doesn’t burn a hole in the pocket then Maruti Suzuki S-Presso ticks all the right boxes. With its tall stance, passengers over 6 feet in height can comfortably sit in the car. Powered by the same 1-litre engine as in the Alto K10, the S-Presso has identical power figures and gets a 5-speed AMT. According to Maruti Suzuki, it returns 25.30 kmpl. The S-Presso comes with more than eleven safety features including advanced hill hold assist and ESP, dual airbags, ABS with EBD etc.

Renault Kwid

The Renault Kwid is easily one of the best-looking vehicles in the affordable range as it comes across more as a compact SUV rather than a hatchback. The Kwid gets a 67bhp 1-litre petrol engine. According to Renault, the motor offers a mileage of 22.3 kmpl. Speaking about its SUV stance, the Kwid has a ground clearance of 184mm. It also comes with a rotary dial for drive modes. In terms of safety, it gets a traction control system, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist, electronic stability program, rear parking camera and two airbags.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio

Maruti Suzuki launched the current generation Celerio in 2021. Like the S-Presso and the Alto K10, the hatchback is powered by the same 1-itre naturally aspirated 3-cylinder engine with an output of 66bhp and 89Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed AMT and the company claims figures of 26 kmpl. The Celerio comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted audio controls, ignition start-stop button etc.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR

The WagonR has been a runaway success ever since it made its debut in India in 1999. The current generation is available with a 5-speed AMT and is powered by the same 1-litre engine as the Celerio. The WagonR AMT returns 25.19 kmpl. The Wagon R is also available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out 88bhp and 113Nm. It comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen with a navigation system and four speakers. It also gets a hill hold assist, rear parking sensors, an Electronic Stability Program and twin airbags.
