Tata Motors has achieved a significant milestone with the launch of the eagerly anticipated Nexon iCNG, starting at Rs 8.99 lakh, ex-showroom. This compact SUV from Tata is now the sole vehicle in the Indian market to provide four distinct powertrain options: petrol, diesel, electric, and CNG. The Nexon CNG is set to compete with its main rival, the current leader in the sub-4-metre SUV category, Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
Here is all you need to know about the new Nexon CNG
Tata Nexon iCNG: First of many features
The Nexon is the first CNG in India to be powered by a turbo petrol engine. We will get to the specs later. Tata Motors continues to use the twin CNG cylinder technology with a total capacity of 60 litres (30+30). It also has the most spacious boot space with 321 litres, which is smaller by 61 litres when compared to the petrol and diesel versions (382 litres). The Nexon like other Tata CNG vehicles, can be directly started in CNG mode and with a single ECU, it can seamlessly shift between the two fuel modes. It also has a mechanism that automatically switches to other fuel options if one is running low.Â
The Nexon CNG top model is packed with premium equipment like twin 10.25-inch displays including the infotainment system and an all-digital instrument cluster with navigation display, leatherette upholstery with front ventilated seats, rain sensing wipers, voice assist panoramic sunroof, cornering front fog lamps, height adjustable front passenger and an 8-speaker music system by JBL. Nexon CNG comes standard with all LED lights including headlights, DRLs and tail lamps. The top model gets sequential LED DRLs and a taillamp with welcome and goodbye lights.
Tata Nexon iCNG: Safety
The Nexon CNG comes standard with 6 airbags, an electronic stability program, ISOFIX, reverse sensors, hill hold control and anti-glare IRVM. The top variants are equipped with height-adjustable driver and front passenger seat belts, a 360-degree camera, blind view monitor, auto dimming IRVM, auto headlamps, rearview camera and tyre pressure monitoring system.
Tata Nexon iCNG: Engine Specs
