Tata Motors first showcased the Altroz Racer at the 2023 Auto Expo. At the Expo, the Indian automobile manufacturer revealed that the sporty hatchback will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with a brand new 6-speed manual transmission, which is a first for the Altroz range. The turbo motor produces 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque, which is the same power plant that’s available in the Nexon. Currently, Tata Motors has not mentioned an Altroz Racer automatic version, but with the Nexon’s 7-speed dual-clutch transmission as an option, maybe it could be on the cards.
