Tata Motors had a very busy 2024 with product launches round the year which started with the Punch EV and ended with the Curvv and Curvv EV. This new year is also set to bring brand new products from Tata Motors, especially in the battery-powered segment. The first of them will be the Harrier EV.

The fully-electric Harrier was unveiled as a pre-production concept at the Auto Expo 2023 and then later at the inaugural edition of Bharat Mobility Expo earlier last year. The Harrier EV is now likely to make its debut in the final production form at the upcoming edition of Bharat Mobility Expo starting on 17 January 2025.

Ahead of its official debut later this month, the Harrier Electric has now been spied testing in a completely uncamouflaged avatar. The all-electric Harrier was reportedly snapped being tested at the COASTT high performance track in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The latest spy images show a fully camouflaged test mule of the electric SUV.

Tata Harrier EV: What to expect?

The Harrier will be the first Tata Motors EV that will be equipped with a twin motor set-up and all-wheel-drive. This was confirmed by Tata Motors at the 2023 Auto Expo as well as previous spy shots. Previous reports have suggested that the Harrier EV could go on sale around March this year. Patent images of the battery-powered Harrier also went viral a few months ago.

Complete details regarding the battery and more specifications are not available as of now but Harrier EV is expected to offer a driving range in the region of 500 km on a single charge. What we do know is that with the dual-motor setup, the Harrier EV is expected to feature a more sophisticated suspension setup which to accommodate the additional weight added to the rear.

A previous report also revealed a new drive selector specifically designed for future all-wheel-drive EVs from Tata Motors. This new rotary knob will let the driver toggle between different terrain modes such as Normal, Snow, Sand, Rock, and Grass. This suggests that barring Normal mode, the Harrier EV will engage AWD in all other modes, with varying levels of traction available.

In terms of features, the Harrier EV is also expected to come with features like Vehicle-2-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-2-Vehicle (V2V) technologies. With V2L, the Harrier EV will be able to charge gadgets and even power household utilities when you’re off camping while the V2V feature will allow the Harrier EV to charge another EV.
