MG Motor has a busy year ahead, with a couple of important launches on cards. One of them will be the compact electric crossover which was recently teased by the carmaker on its official social media handles. The other one is the facelifted Gloster which is expected to hit the roads around the festive season this year.
Test mules of the updated Gloster have been spotted on multiple occasions over the past few months. The full-size SUV in its updated avatar recently got clicked by a camera, where several key details have surfaced. Like the previous test mules, this latest one can also be seen completely wrapped in a camouflage.
MG Gloster facelift: Exterior
The latest spy pics of the updated MG Gloster have been caught on camera in a parking bay which highlight some crucial changes made in the SUV. For starters, it gets a revised horizontally-slatted front grille, flanked by a split lighting setup featuring dual-pod vertical projector LED headlamps on each side of the bumper and LED DRL stripes in line with the bonnet.

Side and rear profiles look very flat, retaining the SUV’s boxy profile. That said, change in dimensions looks unlikely at this point. Visual highlights include flared wheel arches, 19-inch alloy wheels, and twin-tip exhaust. Rest of the details are concealed under the camouflage and will only be revealed in time.
MG Gloster facelift: Interiors & features
The cabin interiors of the Gloster will see some significant updates. In its updated iteration, the Gloster will get a redesigned dashboard layout featuring a larger free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, revised AC vents, new climate control panel, and a redesigned centre console. The Gloster is decently equipped with features in the first place. The only notable upgrade will be Level 2 ADAS.
MG Gloster facelift: Expected engine specs & price
MG Motor is unlikely to make any changes in the powertrain department of the Gloster. Under the hood, 2.0-litre diesel motor which comes in two states of tunes. The one with a single turbocharger pushes out 161 bhp and 375 Nm of torque, whereas the twin turbocharged version dishes out 215 bhp and 480 Nm of torque. Both versions are paired with a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The twin-turbocharged unit also comes with an optional 4WD with a low-range transfer case.
Upon launch, the updated Gloster will continue to rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and Nissan X-Trail. Expect it to be priced starting around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom).
