One of Maruti Suzuki’s best-sellers, the Wagon R, has seen a price increase. The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R sees an increase of up to Rs 15,000, putting the Wagon R in the price range of Rs 5.64 lakh to Rs 7.47 lakh, ex-showroom. The price hike has affected not just the Wagon R, but other Maruti Suzuki models as well, such as the Brezza and the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R variants such as the VXi 1.0 AGS, ZXi 1.2 AGS, ZXi+ 1.2 AGS, and the ZXi+ AGS dual-tone variants now get dearer by Rs 15,000. All other variants of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, including the CNG models, have seen an increase of Rs 10,000.
The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is available with two engine options — a 1.0-litre petrol and a 1.2-litre unit. The former makes 66bhp and 89Nm of torque, while the larger 1.2-litre unit makes 89bhp and 113Nm of torque. The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is available in CNG versions as well with the 1.0-litre engine, which makes 56bhp. Gearbox choices with the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R include a manual and an AMT unit.
The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R competes with a long list of vehicles made by Hyundai and Tata Motors, while within the carmaker’s lineup itself, the Celerio is a competitor. The Wagon R has been a consistent seller for Maruti Suzuki and has topped the sales chart several times in the past.
