The Scorpio is one of Mahindra’s oldest vehicles in production, known for its durability and capabilities on and off the road. In 2022, Mahindra launched the Scorpio N, which saw a radical change but stayed similar to the older model in terms of what it offers.
In just over a year, the Scorpio N has managed to achieve the 1 lakh production milestone. The SUV is available in petrol and diesel versions, spread across five variants: Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L.
Powering the diesel version of the Scorpio N is a 2.2-litre engine in two states of tune. The first one makes 130bhp and the other makes a healthy 172bhp of power. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre unit that makes 200bhp. Gearbox choices include a manual and an automatic torque converter, while the SUV is available in two and four-wheel-drive options.
The Mahindra Scorpio N primarily competes with the Tata Harrier in the Indian market, which gets a sole 2.0-litre diesel engine mated to a manual or an automatic gearbox.
