Mahindra BE 6, XEV 9e prices for 79 kWH battery variants announced: Here’s when deliveries begin

Mahindra will announce prices for the entire lineup for BE 6 and XEV 9e in March this year.

Mahindra unveiled the BE 6 and the XEV 9e on 26 November 2024. At the time of their unveiling, the company had announced only the starting prices of both Electric Origin SUVs which get the 59 kWh battery. For reference, both models will be available with two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh.

The Chakan-based carmaker has now announced prices for the larger 79 kWH battery variants. The BE 6 is priced at Rs 26.90 lakh whereas the XEV 9e is priced at Rs 30.50 (both ex-showroom, starting). With this update, we know prices for entry-level trims of both SUVs for each battery pack.

Mahindra has also revealed that on-road prices for the BE 6 with the 79 kWh battery would be around Rs 28.65 lakh and for the XEV 9e it would be around 32.50 lakh. The company states that booking for both Be 6 and XEV 9e with the larger 79 kWh battery will commence on 14 February 2025, while bookings for the variants with the smaller 59 kWH battery will commence at a later date.

Deliveries of the 79 kWh battery variants are slated to commence March 2025 onwards. Test drives for both Born Electric SUVs will begin in a phased manner from 14 January 2025 with  Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai being the first cities. The company will announce the booking schedule and prices for the rest of the lineup in March this year.

Mahindra BE 6, XEV 9e: Powertrain specs

As previously reported, Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e are underpinned by the INGLO skateboard electric platform developed inhouse by Mahindra while motors borrowed from Volkswagen. The platform allows DC fast charging capabilities up to 175 kW which can rejuvenate the battery pack from 20-80 percent in just 20 minutes.

The BE 6 with the smaller 59 kWh LFP battery makes 221 bhp while the one with the 79 kWh unit makes 281 bhp, and the torque is the same for both at 380Nm. With the larger battery pack, Mahindra claims an ARAI-certified range of 682 km. The SUV with the larger battery pack can accelerate from 0–100 kmph in 6.7 seconds.

On the other hand, the XEV 9e dishes out 228 bhp and 282 bhp with the 59 kWh and 79 kWh batteries, respectively. Mahindra claims an ARAI-certified range of up to 656km. The carmaker says that the 9e can accelerate from 0–100kmph in 6.8 seconds.
