Lexus has commenced deliveries of the new-gen LX 500d in India. Launched earlier in March this year, the new LX 500d is available in two trims: a standard Urban version and an off-road-centric Overtrail edition, priced at Rs 3 crore and Rs 3.12 crore (both ex-showroom), respectively. 

A more luxurious derivative of the Toyota Land Cruiser, the LX 500d gets the same underpinnings and powertrain as the LC 300. Toyota’s luxury arm is offering a flexible and unique Lexus Luxury Care service package which includes Comfort, Relax and Premiere options that are available in 3 years / 60,000 km or 5 years / 100,000 Km or 8 years / 160,000 km.

Lexus LX 500d: Powertrain specs

Powering the Lexus LX 500d is a 3.3-litre diesel V6 engine that kicks out 304 bhp and 700 Nm of peak torque. This motor is paired with a 10-speed torque converter automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels with the help of a low-speed transfer case. The full-size luxury SUV gets five drive modes for varying conditions: Normal, Eco, Comfort, Sport S, and Sport S+.

The Lexus LX 500d is packed to the gills with features such as front-seat massage functions, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, 4-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, two 11-6-inch entertainment displays for rear passengers, a single-pane sunroof, and 25-speaker 3D Mark Levinson sound system, to name a few.

Safety is ensured by features such as 10 airbags, traction control, hill assist control, trailer sway control, and Level 2 ADAS features such as blind spot monitoring, pre-collision system, lane departure and trace assist, safe exit assist, adaptive cruise control, and adaptive high beams. The LX 500d also benefits from off-road features such as active height control, a standard centre differential lock, and adaptive suspension. The top-spec Overtail trim additionally get front and rear differential locks.
