The new Kia Sonet’s mileage figures are right where they should be for a crossover in the sub-4 metre category, which consists of the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Competition in this segment is intense and the Nexon leads sales, primarily owing to a wide powertrain option.

All the vehicles in the segment are offered with a petrol engine, while apart from the Brezza, the others are offered with a diesel engine as well. The new Kia Sonet and the Venue are offered with multiple petrol engines, mated to several gearbox choices, which affect the mileage these vehicles offer. Mahindra XUV300

Similar to the Tata Nexon, the Mahindra XUV300 is offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine in two states of tune, while the other option is a 1.5-litre diesel that makes 115bhp.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is offered with a petrol engine only, a 1.5-litre unit that makes 103bhp. This is the same engine that does its duty in other Maruti Suzuki models, and for those being mileage-conscious, the Brezza gets a CNG version as well.
