Hyundai is known to produce some of the best advertorial content in the Indian automotive market. The carmaker has a penchant for marketing its product at the highest quality and has onboarded some of the top celebrities for its promotional campaigns. Recently, the Korean carmaker introduced Deepika Padukone as its new brand ambassador in India.
The company has now released a special teaser featuring Deepika and the evergreen Shahrukh Khan, most probably serving as a precursor to the upcoming Creta facelift launch. As reported earlier, Hyundai will be unveiling the facelifted Creta in India on 16 January. The updated Creta is one of the most anticipated launches for the new year.
Hyundai Creta facelift teased
In the short 24-second teaser, Deepika is heard referring to the ‘King’ which is often used to refer to Shahrukh as well as Hyundai Creta as the ‘King of SUVs’ in India. The caption to the video starts with “Action blockbuster or a spy mission?”, referring to the recent collaborations between the two actors– Jawan and Pathan, respectively.
Hyundai Creta has been the highest-selling SUV in India for a long time until recently, when models like Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza have started posting stronger monthly sales figures. The updated Creta will receive a major visual makeover and some crucial feature upgrades in addition to a new engine option.
Hyundai Creta facelift expected updates
As far as design goes, the Creta facelift will receive a completely new front face featuring a redesigned grille with a parametric jewel theme, revised projector LED headlights, H-shaped LED DRLs, a new bumper, newly designed 5-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels, and connected LED taillamps at the rear.
In terms of features, Hyundai will add features like a 360-degree surround camera, blind spot monitor, powered front seats with ventilation, fully digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, redesigned HVAC controls, etc. However, the biggest addition to the equipment will be Level 2 ADAS which will offer active safety features like automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, lane change warning, and more.
Hyundai Creta facelift powertrain specs
Hyundai is most likely to retain the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine for the new Creta. The former puts out 114 bhp and 144 Nm of peak torque while the latter delivers 114 bhp and 250 Nm. The 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol motor discontinued earlier this year will be replaced by a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol unit.
The power mill, also offered in Hyundai Verna and Kia Seltos, dishes out 158 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, a CVT automatic, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and a six-speed clutchless manual.
